Every so often man reports finding an image of the Virgin Mary or Christ in some unusual place. Not too long ago a South Bend, Indiana, combine reported that they saw an image of Christ on the fur of their cat. finding the image of Jesus is not a new phenomenon. Here is a small sampling of sightings over up-to-date years:

1-3-07 Residents see Christ image in tree. (Florida)

2-11-08 Jesus image found in a tree log. (Pennsylvania)

3-21-08 Man finds Christ image in a cheesy snack (calls it “Chessus”). (Georgia)

4-17-08 Girl finds sweet Jesus image in a piece of candy. (Florida)

4-30-08 Pregnant woman sees Christ image in ultrasound. (Ohio)

6-27-08 Jesus image seen in granite slab in Dallas. (Texas)

Christ has also been seen on a shower wall, on a turtle, and in a split potato.

When I did a search on the Internet using “Jesus Image” I got about 70,000 hits. But I couldn’t find one article of a man finding Christ in someone else person. Once, just once, it would be uplifting to see a story that went something like this: “A man in the small town of Belleville recently reported finding the image of Jesus in someone else person. When asked about the incident, he said, `You know, I decided to look past the other fellow’s ego and into his heart, and there it was – the likeness of our Lord and Savior. I realized that this man was truly a good, loving person!’”

Maybe one day a story like this will be reported. It seems that the incidents of finding the image of Jesus in all sorts of things are getting more frequent. Maybe this is just institution for the real thing.

Well, it’s time to brush my cats now. Maybe, just maybe…
