One of the most weapons of spiritual war, but also the one that is indubitably confused with other worldly thoughts is faith. What is faith then? Faith in the bible is described as having absolute trust in God, our inventor and leader. It means that even when things don’t seem to be going our way, we know that God will pull us through. Faith is also a gift from God so that we may be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For it is by grace that you have been saved, straight through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. “
So why is faith such a hard spiritual weapon to master? The riposte is simply because we are human and have a hard time handing over perfect operate to someone else; especially in someone in which we cannot even physically see nearby us. Many people claim to have faith but are simply believing based on things that they have seen themselves or heard from others. Unfortunately though, this doesn’t originate a well mastered weapon of spiritual warfare.
Shield Protection
Let me give you an example of how this plays out in worldly terms. Fantasize that there was some guy out there that all the time played Madden, an Nfl based video game. He became pretty good at the game and was known my some of his friends as being the best at it as he all the time made the right plays and would win pretty much every game he played. This someone recognized his skills and one day decided to try out for his college football team only to gawk he didn’t truly have the skills needed to play the game for real. Sure he probably knew the motions and the plays needed to win, but at the same time, he was nowhere near ready to indubitably get out there and play against all those experienced players. He knew what to do, but because he never indubitably trained for it and exercised to heighten his skills and strength, his knowledge of the game simply wasn’t enough when it came down to facing the larger challenges before him-actual players.
This is a lot like how faith plays out. Many of us think that we have a ton of faith in God simply because God got us straight through a lot of tough times in the past or we have witnessed God working straight through other people, but in reality how much faith do we indubitably have? When tough times hit us and we are alone and scared and no longer know what to do, will our faith still be there protecting us from the challenges that may be coming our way?
That’s the query that must be addressed in order to have full mastery of the shields of faith that God has in case, granted to defend his honor.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
So if this is true, why aren’t we finding many mountains getting up and moving? I mean, a mustard seed is pretty small so wouldn’t at least a few people have enough faith to move those mountains? Well, I am sure there are a quite a few people out there who could potentially accomplish this task, but it just doesn’t happen for two inherent reasons.
One reckon is that there indubitably is no reckon for a mountain to just be moved, so that view simply doesn’t go straight through people’s minds. But if it did, the straightforward fact that the majority of people indubitably have no legit reckon other than to test God, the mountains will never move.
Now I know that when God refers to mountains, He is referring to any big obstacle that may get in our way and disrupt our path to salvation, but the same test applies. When we ask God for things or say that we believe, are we asking or saying with the true belief in God with 100% faith that He will furnish or are our request based off things He has done in the past? Will we be able to accept an riposte that we may not indubitably desire with the full belief that God knows exactly what He is doing and won’t abandon us?
It is easy to have faith in things that we have seen work many times before, but when someday one of those things doesn’t work like it used to, it also becomes very easy for us to turn our backs on God and query why He didn’t do as He did all the other times. So where does your faith lie? In God alone, or is it based on past perceive and expectations?
